Best Audience: Animal Lovers who want to deepen their understanding of the non-human animal world as well as those who learn through or want to reinforce their animal communication skills through story
I had already been working on my animal communication skills for a few years when my friend Patty at ABC Riding Center suggested I try Kinship with All Life by J. Allen Boone. She’d found it for twenty-five cents at a garage sale and, having fallen in love with Freddie the Fly, was certain I would learn as much as had she in reading it. I borrowed her copy, somewhat skeptical about learning anything new but happy to have more good animal communication stories to share. A week later, I returned it as my own copy was already in the mail.
Boone’s stories of his adventures with Freddie the Fly, Strongheart, and others illustrate beautifully the path he took to learning how to communicate with the many non-human animals with whom we share this big blue marble. They’re entertaining and instructive, so long as you’re not looking for a step-by-step how-to on animal communication. Boone teaches us by example, often quite humorously and delightfully so. In my humble opinion, Kinship with All Life ought to be a primer for anyone who wants to connect more deeply with the rest of the Animal World. Boone shows us how powerful changing our stance and our mindset is in learning the Universal Language. His stories are absolutely delightful, too.
Bottom Line: Kinship with All Life by J. Allen Boone has earned a permanent place on my bookshelf.
