Homebrewer’s Companion by Charles Papzian

Homebrewer’s Companion By Charles Papzian

Best Audience: Beginning to advanced brewers, most especially those intersted in all-grain brewing with the aim of hitting specific styles

I picked up Homebrewer’s Companion Second Edition: The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, Master’s Edition by Charles Papazian after a couple of years when I wanted to push my own recipes into a new league. I was looking to better understand beer styles and what to look for in my own brews. I loved The Complete Joy of Homebrewing Fourth Edition: Fully Revised and Updated by Charles Papazian, and figured Homebrewer’s Companion Second Edition: The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, Master’s Edition wouuld be a natural next step.

It was a logical and ultimately profitable next step. I used Homebrewer’s Companion Second Edition: The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, Master’s Edition as a reference through many years of brewing. I cannot say that it’s the best book on styles I’ve used, but it has been a terrific reference. I keep it, though I rarely reference it. If you’re looking for a door into a better understanding of all-grain brewing and what it takes to produce a variety of styles, Homebrewer’s Companion Second Edition: The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, Master’s Edition may be a help. I want to recommend it, but in all honesty there are so many wonderful titles available now that weren’t back when I picked up my copy of Homebrewer’s Companion Second Edition: The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, Master’s Edition, I think better choices are out there now.

The Bottom Line: Homebrewer’s Companion Second Edition: The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, Master’s Edition has a place on my bookshelf for now.
