Material Joy

MaterialJoy 4

I bought the first two fabrics for Material Joy at the 2009 Sisters Quilt Show, then spent the next year gathering fabric and inspiration. This project took me two years to complete and helped me take my free-motion quilting skills to a new level.

MaterialJoy-2I love the bright combination of yellows and pinks in Material Joy.

The border quilting really brought the borders and the center of this quilt together.MaterialJoy-1

MaterialJoy-3

Material Joy at Crater Lake National Park, a joy to behold.

This 110-inch by 118-inch quilt is based on “Tillie’s Treasures” by Pat Speth and Charlene Thode.
